To be accepted towards training as a learner winding engine driver the following applies:
- Screening process
- Onsetter Ticket
- Complete the application form for acceptance
- Proof of payment (R50 INCOME TAX STAMP)
- Valid medical certificate
- Senior certificate OR Grade 11 with Math's and Science
- All documents must be certified by the police
- Course duration 10 months to 18 months.
To provide training for Winding Engine Drivers.
To provide refresher courses for Winding Engine Drivers
(Duration 1 day) (Legal and shaft specifics)
To carry out continuous performance assessmants on Winding Engine Drivers to identify possible needs.
(Feedback to management - Management requirements)
To audit all training & give feedback to management at a regular base.
To constantly upgrade all legal aspects concerning WED.
To perform on the Job Assessments.

Vertical and incline shafts, Safety Devices, Headgear, Shaft and Engine Room
Signalling systems, Working procedures, Men, material, eplosives, sling work, marks
Changing of conveyances and emergency procedures.
To provide refesher training based on your shaft specifics.
Baden Training Services arranges 52 practical AC shifts and 52 practical DC shifts with mines that we have official Service Level Agreements with.
MQA EXAMINATION & CERTIFICATION
Baden Training Services makes use of the MQA (Mining Qualification Authority) aligned examination process after successfully passing a pre-assessment procedure.
A MQA verified and certified qualification certificate with statement of results is issued to the student.
DMR EXAMINATION & CERTIFICATION
Students complete the DMR process of examination are issued with the DMR certificate.
